This museum has ethnographic collections of crafts and items documenting the traditional cities, villages and household materials of southern Wallachia. The town of Valašské Klobouky is set in a valley of the Klobučka River, at northern part of the Protected Landscape Area of the White Carpathians, a territory on the list of UNESCO biosphere reserves.
