The pier was opened in 1914, and with a length of 470 metres, it is the longest pier of its kind in the country. It is a popular site for strolling, sunset gazing, running, and birdwatching. Across the bay are the landscapes of the United States, as you may see on the map further down this page. On the live image, you will also see a stretch of the beach, a park, and White Rock's Promenade. In this waterfront area, you will find attractions such as the "White Rock", a 486-tonne white boulder that migrated to this place during the last glaciation.
