These amazing live views of Funchal city surroundings are from our new webcam feed Funchal Marina 2 Webcam in which is located on Madeira Island , Portugal , as shown on our map further down the page. It looks out onto the pleasant Santa Catarina Park (Parque de Santa Catarina) and Avenida do Infante, as well as the Plaza Madeira shopping centre (formerly known as La Vie) and up the hill to the 17th century Fortress São João Baptista do Pico . This tourist cam stream also shows the waterfront Avenida Sá Carneiro and roundabout, where it intersects with Funchal's main avenue, Avenida do Mar, where the famous Carnival and Flower parades take place. A close-up view of the Sé Cathedral , which has been designated a National Monument since 1910, as well as the Palácio de São Lourenço Funchal's first fortress, which was built between 1529 and 1540, can also be seen here. You also get a glimpse of the People's Square (Praça do Povo) , one of the city's main gathering places and the location of numerous events throughout the year. The Marina, with its wonderful yachts and tourist vessels, including boat tours and Funchal pier, is also on display. You can also enjoy the Funchal Shipspotting Cam , which offers a fun stream of ships arriving and departing.
