This lively market area was established in 1818 and still houses vendors of local food and other products. Muikku, or fried vendace (fish), is a Kuopio Market square tradition. On the right side of the live image, you can see the façade of Kuopio City Hall, which was completed in 1886 in the Neo-Renaissance style.
